10 Quick Remedies For Pimples
Pimples are caused due to the infection that occurs on the oily/greasy skin. The sebaceous glands secrete excess oil which in turn results the cause of pimples. It gets infected with the bacteria due to which pus formation takes place. They usually form on face, neck and back, though they are not a serious problem it looks awkward and some people treat them as very serious due to their appearance at several areas.
Though there are various products to treat the pimples, they may take time and also waste of money and time, let us see some natural remedies that are available in our kitchen….
1. Treatment With Ice:
Ice controls the secretion of oil from the gland, by improving blood circulation and removes dirt from the skin pores which is accumulated, ice cubes or crushed ice can be used as per your convenience.
§ Treat the affected area with ice wrapped in a piece of cloth for some time.
§ Repeat the process if necessary.
It helps to reduce the infection which causes inflammation when treating it when ever needed. it also helps reduces the swelling and soothes skin infection.
2. Lemon Treatment:
As it is known that lemon is a very good remedy for oily skin, the vitamin C which is present in the lemon helps pimples to dry quickly and prevents reoccurring .But keep in mind to use only fresh lime juice instead bottled juice as it contains preservatives in it. Here are a couple of remedies to apply the juice.
§ Squeeze lemon juice in a bowl, apply it with a cotton swab on affected area before bed.
§ Make a paste by mixing 1tsp lemon juice with 1 tsp cinnamon powder and apply on the pimples, leave it over night, wash with warm water in the morning. Restrict this remedy for the people who are having sensitive skin.
3. Honey:
Honey is well known for its antibiotic properties, it helps in healing quickly and cures infections.
§ Apply honey with the help of clean and dry cotton swab on the affected area and leave it for half an hour.
§ Wash it with Luke warm water once it is dried.
4. Toothpaste:
Toothpaste which you use regularly to clean your teeth is also acts as an effective remedy, it is advised to use following ice treatment. It is prescribed to use white toothpaste instead of gel and others.
§ Before going to bed, apply white tooth paste on affected area with a clean cotton swab.
§ By the morning you notice a drastic reduction of swelling when you washed with warm water.
5. Steam:
Steaming is no doubt, very good for skin as it acts as a natural astringent which helps skin to breathe and makes skin to open up the pores. It also plays a vital role in reduction of pimples by washing off the dirt and bacteria that is accumulated on the skin which leads to inflammation.
§ Boil water in a container and allow steam to come out and make it in contact with the skin of your face for few minutes.
§ Wash your face with Luke warm water and dry it apply an oil free moisturizer to skin.
It also gives a glowing skin and a beautiful complexion.
6. Garlic:
Garlic is rich in antiviral, antifungal, antiseptic and antioxidant agent which helps in treating pimples. Sulphur which is presented in the garlic helps in quick healing of pimples.
A garlic clove a day keeps doctor away by purifying blood, avoid eating too much garlic as it results in stomach upset.
7. Baking Soda:
Baking Soda is prescribed for the people who are having sensitive skin as it does not results in any kind of rashes or inflammation.
§ Mix a teaspoon baking soda with sufficient amount of water or lime juice, make thick paste.
§ Wash thoroughly your skin, by keeping it wet apply the prepared paste allow it to dry for few seconds, keep in mind, that the paste should not leave on the skin more than 2-3 minutes as it makes skin dry.
§ Apply moisturizer immediately after washing it with warm water.
§ For better results repeat the process twice a day.
8. Peppermint:
Peppermint is one of the very effective for treating pimples as the soothing effect that is present in the menthol helps in reducing the pimples by curing inflammation and redness. As it is rich in antibacterial and antiviral properties helps to get rid of bacteria which causes pimples.
§ Blend some peppermint leaves, extract juice from it.
§ Gently apply the juice with a swab and leave it on for 10-15 minutes.
§ Wash off with cold water and apply gentle moisturizer.
If you do not find fresh peppermint leaves handy, no need to worry. You can apply peppermint oil on pimples as they contain essential fatty acids and vitamins. Apply two to three drops of oil directly on pimples massage for some time and wash it off with cols water.
9. Cucumber:
Cucumber plays a vital role in skin rejuvenation, it is rich in potassium and vitamins like A,C and E and it soothes skin.
§ Take a cucumber and slice it to few pieces and put them in water, let it soak for an hour. The essential nutrients which presents in the cucumber pieces transfers to the water.
§ Use this water for drinking or for wash the face with it.
Face mask can also be prepared with cucumber, blend the cucumber pieces and make a thick paste, apply on the face, let it dry for 15 minutes and then wash it with warm water. It helps to wash off the bacteria from the pores of skin and makes it glowing.
10.Papaya:
Papaya is rich in antioxidants and vitamin A, it plays a vital role in minimizing the pimples quickly without much effort. Just crush the papaya pieces with finger tips, apply directly extracted juice on pimples. Wash it off with Luke warm water once it gets dried.
