Hibiscus – Best Herb to Lower Blood Pressure
One of the most splendid flowers in the world, and is now subsistence popular after by researchers to control low blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
An experiment team from the Chung Shan medical university in Taiwan found that Hibiscus flowers could help in controlling blood pressure and cholesterol, while improving circulation. These flowers contain good levels of Vitamin C that helps ward off cold and chest congestions.
Research which has been presented in the Journal of Science of Food and Agriculture proved that Hibiscus flowers contain high antioxidants that quite much reduce the critical build-up of fats inside arteries.
A representative of British Health foundation, Dr Griffith, in his research concedes that the naturally occurring flavonoids found in red wine, fruit, tea and Hibiscus has ample potent antioxidants properties that decreases the oxidation of harmful type of cholesterol, LDL.
On a research conducted to inspect the advantages of Hibiscus tea on Essential Hypertension, researchers prepped hibiscus tea adding 1tablespoon of dried hibiscus tea in quart of boiling water to attain the lowering effect of blood pressure.
A research was done in 2004, reported in the journal Phytomedicene; states that people suffering from hypertension can indeed reduce blood pressure levels by consuming Hibiscus tea daily. The study counted 70 people, half of whom drank 16 ounces of hibiscus tea before breakfast daily or taken 25 mg of antihypertensive medication twice a day. One month later the diastolic blood pressure of hibiscus tea consumed people were reduced by atleast of 10 points in 79% of the participants, and the medicated people blood pressure was reduced at least 10 points in 84% of participants. Results were more or less equal.
Thus, it’s been achieved that besides lowering high blood pressure and cholesterol, hibiscus beverage has numerous tendency that makes it more valuable than regular tea.
Dr Andrew Weil, head in the field of holistic health and Founder – Director, College of Medicine University of Arizona, strongly praise hibiscus as the most gifted herb for treating high blood pressure. He states, during two clinical trials which included people with high blood pressure who took their medication, were given 6 grams Hibiscus in 250 ml of water or black tea thrice a day. After 12 days hibiscus group disclosed appreciable drop in this blood pressure levels compared to black tea group.
